Apparently there is no wasting time for demolition to begin at the former Arlington Park racetrack facility in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The Village of Arlington Heights announced Friday, May 26, 2023 that demolition permits for phase 1 of the demolition of Arlington Park were drawn up to proceed with the interior demolition of Arlington Park. Alpine Demolition Services heavy equipment was already on the scene overnight Friday to Saturday, and at least one banner from Alpine Demolition Service with knockitdown.com visible on the banner is displayed near a Euclid Avenue entrance near the former Ditka’s Trackside restaurant.
The equipment is staged on the northeast side of the Arlington Park grandstand on the property where the Chicago Bears hope to build a new domed NFL stadium surround by residential, entertainment, recreational and commercial properties.
Previous demolition projects by Alpine Demolition Services include the Wrigley Field Demolition Phase 1 Inner Ball Park Expansion, the Des Plaines Oasis Project, the Washington and Wabash Demolition Project and more.
Truck routes have been provided in a map by the Village of Arlington Heights and Kimley Horn — a construction and civil engineering company involved in planning, surveying, engineering, and design consulting.
