Police officers from Arlington Heights responded about 5:05 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023 to investigate a report of a group of “homeless” males standing next the the railroad tracks near the Metra station at 45 West Northwest Highway in Arlington Heights.
Witnesses reported a large group in the area. No further information was available.
This incident occurred while an investigation was underway after a juvenile was almost hit by a Metra train in downtown Mount Prospect. Although the juvenile was not hit, the juvenile’s bicycle was hit by the Metra train.
Inbound and outbound traffic on the Metra line was delayed and some trains were canceled because of the train crash with the bicycle.
