Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 5:55 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2023 to a report of a house fire in the block of 500 South Dunton Avenue in Arlington Heights.
A fire officer, first on the scene, reported light smoke showing and upgraded the call to a working fire. Interior firefighters reported the fire was possibly in a crawl space, and that they were checking for extension up to the attic.
The fire was quickly extinguished. Firefighters were working on the roof, and the main aerial on the tower ladder truck was raised as a precaution.
Initially, no injuries were reported.
Firefighters from Palatine, Rolling Meadows and Schaumburg were assigned to the scene for the working fire response.
