The crash scene was located in Cook County, but Lake County MCAT frequently works with Buffalo Grove, which is located in Cook County and Lake County.
The details of the fatal crash are being investigated, but Alex Gorn apparently parked his vehicle on the concrete or asphalt median of Buffalo Grove Road, and got out of his vehicle to check a snowblower that was placed at the curb in front of a residence in the block of 400 South Buffalo Grove Road. He was struck by a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado in the southbound lanes of Buffalo Grove Road while the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound. The driver of the Chevy Silverado stopped and remained at the scene, which was located just north of Golfview Terrace.
Buffalo Grove Road is a four-lane roadway with an asphalt or concrete curbed median that is about 16-feet wide. The Speed Limit on Buffalo Grove is 35 MPH according to images on Google Map Street View captured in Augusts 2022.
Buffalo Grove Road was closed between Golfview Terrace and Bernard Drive during the on-scene investigation. Buffalo Grove Road was re-opened by about 11:45 p.m. Saturday.
