Two residential burglaries occurred in the block of 700 North Douglas Avenue recently, but only one of the burglaries was provided in the list of crimes published this week by the Arlington Heights Police Department.
Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders burglarized a single-family home while people were away for a few days.
The residential burglary victim reported an unknown offender or offenders entered the residence after breaking a window, and stole personal items in the home.
The crime is reported to have occurred between Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 6:05 AM and Monday, March 13, 2023 at 10:35 AM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 52:30 (hours: minutes) or about 2.2 days.
A second single-family home located across the street (Douglas Avenue) was also burglarized, but the date and time frame is initially unknown. The method of entry is also initially unknown. The residents were also away from their home for at least a few days.
The Arlington Height Police Department published the one residential burglary incident approximately one week after the burglary occurred. CARDINAL NEWS did not delay reporting of the confirmed listed burglary, and is reporting the second residential burglary before confirmation from the Arlington Heights Police Department.
Items of sentimental value were reported stole from at least one of the homes.
