Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023, to a report of shots fired in the 38000 block of North Manor Avenue, Beach Park. Lake County Sheriff’s deputies arrived and located a home that was shot, but no people were shot or injured during the incident.
Preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a dark colored vehicle slowed in front of the victims’ home when one of the occupants in the vehicle shot toward the home. The home was apparently specifically targeted.
While assisting the victims in the home and processing the evidence, sheriff’s deputies and evidence technicians were asked by the victims to leave. The occupants indicated they did not want the assistance of the sheriff’s office in processing their home for evidence, without the sheriff’s office obtaining a search warrant.
While the victims appear to be uncooperative, sheriff’s detectives will continue to investigate.
