Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 10:28 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023 to a report that a Metra train on the Union Pacific Northwest Line hit a pedestrian near the downtown train station at 45 West Northwest Highway in Arlington Heights. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Inbound and outbound train movement was halted near Arlington Heights after a pedestrian was struck by outbound Metra train #661, which was scheduled to depart Chicago OTC at 9:35 p.m. and arrive in Arlington Heights at 10:21 p.m.
