Police, firefighters and paramedics from Waukegan responded about 9:40 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023 to a report of a crash with injuries and two people unconscious at Lewis Avenue and Bonnie Brook Lane in Waukegan.
Upon arrival police, firefighters, and paramedics discovered two vehicles with moderate to heavy damage of the roadway in a grassy area. Firefighters discovered three crash victims and called for a LifeNet medical transport helicopter to respond for the transportation of one victim. The LifeNet helicopter landed at Waukegan National Airport where a crash victim was transferred from an ambulance to the helicopter, and then transferred to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Medical Center.
Waukegan Police Department closed down the intersection to investigate the crash. The Speed Limit on Lewis Avenue is 35 MPH.
