The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning at 12:25 p.m. Saturday after a boost in the snow accumulation forecast for affected counties. Early this morning, for example, Antioch’s snow accumulation forecast was 4.8 inches. This afternoon the forecast snow accumulation for Antioch is 6.0 inches. The snow accumulation forecast for Arlington Heights remains at about 3.0 inches.
The Winter Storm Warning affects Lake County, McHenry County, Boone County and Winnebago County, but does not affect Cook County.
In Wisconsin, the Winter Storm Warning affects Kenosha County, Racine County, Walworth County, Rock County, Milwaukee County, and Ozaukee County.
Weather Radar shows precipitation as snow over all of northern Illinois. The precipitation is moving southwest to northwest, and indicates increasing intensity.
Weather Radar in northeast Illinois was clear.
