Cook County Sheriff’s Deputies responded about 2:38 a.m. Monday January 9, 2023 to a commercial burglary alarm call at an auto dealership located in the block of 1600 South Roselle Road in unincorporated Schaumburg. Upon arrival, officers learned that multiple offenders had broken a window and unlawfully gained entry that set off the business’ security alarm system. The offenders fled the scene prior to police arrival. Officers met with the business manager who stated that six luxury vehicles were stolen, including a
blue 2014 Audi S7,
two blue 2017 Audi Q7s,
a blue 2018 Mercedes Benz GLS 450,
a white 2019 Mercedes Benz E300, and
a black 2014 Maserati Ghibli.
Oak Park Police recovered the the 2014 Audi S7 which was abandoned, and was turned over to Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department Criminalistics to be processed.
This investigation is ongoing. Surveillance video at the business showed that about 10 offenders arrived in a large SUV. The offenders casually walked to the front of the business, and one of the offenders threw an object through a glass garage door. A door latch was then opened via the opening where the glass of the garage door was broken.
A similar theft of multiple vehicles occurred at a body shop/collision center in Arlington Heights in December 2022.
Anyone with information is urged to call Cook County Sheriff’s Police Detectives at 708-865-4896.
