A gofundme fundraiser created on Saturday, December 3, 2022 has raised over $60,000 in one day. The fundraiser crossed over $60,000 at about 8:40 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2022 with about 1,100 donations. The Buffalo Grove community and other groups have pulled together funds that are well over the $50,000 goal in order to help family members to be able to afford a proper memorial and burial. The victims’ family members live in Eastern Europe.
“On Wednesday our community was shaken to the core by the horrific news. Our dear friend and caring neighbor Vera and her two precious little girls Vivian (Vivi) and Amilia (Amilusha) were brutally murdered inside their home. Vera was a devoted and a loving mom to a fun loving, energetic, always smiling 7-year-old Vivi and delicate, kind, sweet 4-year-old Amilusha. She did her best to keep them safe and happy but their lives were cut too short in the most gruesome way.
“We are asking you to help us make a proper send off for Vera and the girls. Their family members, sister/aunt with a newborn baby and 87-year-old grandmother/great grandmother, live overseas. As you can imagine, they were not at all prepared for the financial burden that comes along with a proper funeral service, burial and the transportation costs as they would like to lay them to rest in their hometown. All the donations will be going to offset these costs.
“We truly appreciate all your thoughts, prayers and any support you are able to lend at this time.”
An update for the memorial service will be posted as soon as the arrangements are finalized, according to the information section of the gofundme fundraiser, “In Loving Memory of Vera Kisliak, Vivian, Amilia.” Natasha Kuzmenko was the named organizer on the gofundme page.
Five people — including Vivian Kisliak, age 6; Vera Kisliak, age 36; and Amilia Kisliak, age 4 — were found dead from sharp force injuries in the home where a roadside memorial has also been set up at 2830 Acacia Terrace in far north Buffalo Grove.
