Police, firefighters and paramedics from Des Plaines responded about 8:30 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2022 to a report that a Metra train on the Union Pacific Northwest Line hit a pedestrian at Mount Prospect Road and Northwest Highway in Des Plaines.
The victim was transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran, General Hospital in Park Ridge.
Inbound and outbound train movement was halted due to a pedestrian being struck by Metra train #657 between the Mt. Prospect and Cumberland station.
