Police, firefighters and paramedics from Buffalo Grove responded about 3:10 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2022 to a report of a crash with injuries at Deerfield Parkway and Buffalo Grove Road in Buffalo Grove. A caller reported that a female was lying in the roadway after the crash.
Police, firefighters, and paramedics on arrival discovered three sedans involved in the crash, and multiple people injured. A second ambulance was requested, and a Long Grove ambulance was assigned. Firefighters upgraded the call to a crash with entrapment by 3:16 p.m. Two people were transported and one person refused medical treatment.
One of the crash victims was transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
A black Hyundai Elantra sedan had severe front-end damage after the crash. A silver Audi had significant damage on the passenger side, and then front-end damage from going through the fence. A Mazda sedan had moderate front-end damage.
Southbound Buffalo Grove was closed during rescue and vehicle recovery operations. Westbound Deerfield Parkway was down to one lane, and northbound Buffalo Grove Road was down to one lane near the crash scene.
