Police from Arlington Heights responded about 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2022 to a report that a male offender pulled a knife on the victim while the victim was walking his dog in the area of the Jewel-Osco, 122 North Vail Avenue in Arlington Heights. The caller walked home and called police. After arrival on the scene, police discovered the described subject by 9:45 p.m. in front of the Jewel-Osco.
The male subject with the knife was described as a male/black, possibly homeless, last seen wearing a brown jacket and black pants.
About 9:47 p.m. the male subject began fighting with police, and additional police backup units responded to assist. The situation was secured within a couple of minutes, and the suspect was taken into custody, and identified as Christopher Crenshaw, age 42, home address not provided. Arlington Heights police officers managed the threat safely, and no injuries were reported.

In Cook County Circuit Court Rolling Meadows, Crenshaw was ordered held on $30,000 bond in Cook Cook Jail. Crenshaw’s booking date was November 10, 2022. He remains in Cook County Jail in Division 8 Housing as of Tuesday morning, November 15, 2022.
Crenshaw’s next scheduled court date is Friday, December 9, 2022.
