Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 1:27 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2022 to a report of a truck that hit a power line at Euclid Avenue and Ridge Avenue in Arlington Heights. The incident caused the closure of Euclid Avenue between Walnut Avenue and Northwest Highway in Arlington Heights.
Police, firefighters and paramedics arrived to find data lines and possibly power lines wrapped around behind the cab of a dump truck. There were no injuries reported. An overhead cable may have also hit a passenger car.
Overhead lines and a structure connecting power lines over the traffic signals at Euclid Avenue and Northwest Highway were also damaged.
ComEd estimated that power would be restored about 3:45 p.m.
Meade electric contractors were also on the scene to repair traffic signal structures at Euclid Avenue and Northwest Highway.
