A driver who crashed his black Lexus into a traffic signal standard at Rand Road and Palatine Road in Arlington Heights around 4:00 a.m. Sunday, November 13, 2022 was charged with DUI Alcohol an another charge a short time after the crash. Christopher Carreon, age 27, was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (625 5/11-501(a)(2)) and driving while Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle (625 5/3-707). His bond is a $3,000 Personal Recognizance Bond or I-Bond. Carreon’s next court date is Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. at Rolling Meadows Cook County Circuit Court Room 104.
Defendants are presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial in which it is the government’s burden to prove his or her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 4:03 a.m. and 4:05 a.m. respectively on Sunday, November 13, 2022 to a report of a crash with injuries at Palatine Road and Rand Road in Arlington Heights.
Police were first on the scene and discovered a black Lexus sedan with severe front-end damage. Police also found a driver injured and suspected to be impaired. The driver was the sole occupant in a one-vehicle crash with a large metal traffic signal standard.
The driver was conscious and speaking, assessed by paramedics, and transported to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
Westbound Palatine Road west of Rand Road was temporarily closed until about 4:45 a.m. Hillside Towing responded quickly to clear the Lexus from blocking Palatine Road.
The driver of the black Lexus was apparently traveling on US-12 WEST (Rand Road northwestbound) and lost control while making a left turn to westbound Palatine Road. There was no confirmation whether another vehicle may
