Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 11:48 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2022 to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle in Arlington Heights at Arlington Heights Road and Dundee Road near Buffalo Grove High School at the border of Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove.
A female student that was injured in the accident was transported by Arlington Heights Fire Department paramedics with a serious injury to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
Traffic remained delayed on eastbound Dundee Road west of Arlington Heights Road near the Buffalo Grove Walgreens at 1:00 p.m.
The intersection was cleared about 1:50 p.m.
Arlington Heights Police Department is investigating the crash. Both Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove police officers were involved in traffic control at the scene. The intersection had very heavy traffic, but rain did not begin until after the accident occurred.
Eastbound Dundee Road was closed east of Arlington Heights Road, and northbound Arlington Heights Road was also closed at several locations as far back as the intersection with Old Arlington Heights Road and University Drive.
