Police, firefighter and paramedics from Mount Prospect responded about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2022 to a report of a gunshot victim with multiple shots fired in the block of 1900 Seneca Lane in Mount Prospect.
Police, firefighters and paramedics received a report of multiple shots fired with shooting continuing in the area. A caller reported that two teens were in the backyard and blood was visible in the backyard.
The shooting may have initially occurred at Frost Elementary School, and the victim may have ended up in a backyard of the house on Seneca Lane. The victim may have been 14 or 15 years-old, and may have suffered a gunshot wound to the back.
Police secured the scene, and a teen gunshot victim was found with a gunshot wound in the back. Mount Prospect Fire Department paramedics treated the teen and then transported the teen to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. The condition of the teen was not initially available.
The crime scene in Mount Prospect was located less than one-half mile from the block of 500 Piper Lane in Prospect Heights where a 14 year-old boy was shot and killed at an apartment complex about 3:13 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2022. Initially, there was no confirmation whether the two shootings are connected.
