Cook County Sheriff’s deputies, and firefighters and paramedics from Palatine responded about 9:44 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2022 to a report of a rollover crash with entrapment on northbound Route 53 near Northwest Highway. Firefighters discovered the crash was closer to the beginning of the exit ramps to eastbound Palatine Road, and discovered there was no entrapment.
A female driver in the car was able to get out of the vehicle just before firefighters and paramedics arrived. The vehicle was a white Lexus sedan that rolled over after hitting a guardrail, and ended up upright on all four wheels. The wheels and tires appeared damage. The roof of the white Lexus was also damaged, but did not collapse.
Firefighter/paramedics assessed the driver, but the driver refused medical transportation to a hospital.
A left-hand curve begins on northbound Route 53 just about at the point where the crash occurred. The Cook County Sheriff’s took the report on the crash. Illinois State Police troopers were not at the crash scene during the time CARDINAL NEWS was on the scene.
