North Chicago police officers were dispatched about 10:45 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2022, at to the block of 2600 block Spruce Drive, North Chicago, for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they located an 18-year-old man seriously injured from a gunshot wound. The man was transported to an area hospital in grave condition, and he was pronounced deceased at approximately 5:30 a.m. this morning.
North Chicago Police requested the assistance of the Lake County Major Crime Task Force. North Chicago Detectives and Task Force Investigators continue to investigate the shooting.
