Police officers from Highland Park responded about 5:17 p.m. Wednesday, 7, 2022 to a report of an “individual” threatening to use a firearm at the intersection of Deerfield Road and Lilac Lane in Highland Park. Upon arrival at the intersection, police officers began de-escalation tactics, according to the City of Highland park. A Taser was deployed and the subject was taken into custody. No shots were fired. The City of Highland Park state, “There is no further threat to the community.” The scene was located where a busy street Deerfield Road intersects in a residential neighborhood with Lilac Lane to the south and Ridge Road to the north.
