Lisle police officers and Lisle-Woodridge firefighters and paramedics responded about 5:45 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2022 to a report of a vehicle crash with a pedestrian at the intersection of Ogden Avenue and Yackley Avenue in Lisle.
Upon arriving on the scene, a male pedestrian was found unresponsive in the roadway, and it was learned that the vehicle that struck him had left the scene. Lisle-Woodridge Fire District personnel arrived and immediately transported the pedestrian to an area hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The identity of the pedestrian was not initially released pending notification of next of kin.
The Lisle Police Department was assisted by the DuPage MERIT Major Crash Reconstruction Team in completing the accident reconstruction. Google Street View images in October 2021 show that the intersection is a Red Light Photo-Enforced intersection.
Members of the Volunteers 4 Lisle EMA Team also provided traffic control throughout the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information, or anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call the Lisle Police Investigations Unit at 630-271-4200.
