An arrest and public information photo and report from Huntington Beach Police Department showed the tools of the trade of catalytic converter thefts and some proceeds from catalytic converter thefts after an overnight arrest.
Huntington Beach Police Department responded about 2:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022 to a reported attempted theft of a catalytic converter. The caller stated he heard a suspicious noise and saw two males trying to steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle parked in the area of 8th Street and Walnut Avenue in Huntington Beach, California.
Police officers quickly responded to the area and located the car on PCH (Pacific Coast Highway/California State Route 1). A traffic stop was initiated, and inside the vehicle, officers located evidence linking the suspects to several catalytic converter thefts. As a result, two individuals were arrested.
