Police officers from Arlington Heights responded about 12:55 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022 to a report of a strong-arm robbery at the Ulta Beauty store, 13 West Rand Road in Arlington Heights. Police received a report that five male teens and/or adults entered the store and shouted “Get back!” Additionally, police received a report that the males were intimidating employees and were acting in an aggressive manner that caused the employees to fear they might be harmed.
The robbers, who were not reported to be armed, then took about $8,083 in retail products sold at the store. The five males then fled in a blue Hyundai, which was determined to be the same vehicle they used to arrive at the shopping center, located at the southwest corner of Arlington Heights Road and Rand Road.
The robbers were described as follows …
#1. A male, Black, in his late teens or early twenties, wearing an olive green Abercrombie brand hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, a black balaclava, torn faded blue jeans, and white leather tennis shoes.
#2. A male, Black, in his late teens or early twenties, wearing a black balaclava, an orange short sleeve t-shirt, faded blue/grey jeans and gray tennis shoes.
#3. A male, Black, in his late teens or early twenties, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, torn blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
#4. A male, Black, in his late teens or early twenties, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, dark blue jeans and black tennis shoes with a white stripe.
#5. A male, Black, in his late teens or early twenties, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, black or dark blue skinny jeans, and white leather tennis shoes.
Initially, no injuries were reported at the scene of the robbery.
