Police, firefighters and paramedics from Chicago responded about 2:46 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2022 to a report of shooting victims near Schurz High School, 3601 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago.
Initially, two ambulances were dispatched for a report of teens shot near the high school near the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Addison Street.
A third ambulance was assigned at about 2:59 p.m. when a third shooting victim was discovered. A fourth victim was discovered by police at about 3:11 p.m.
The initial three victims were classified as one triaged Code Red, and two triaged Code Yellow.
One shooting victim was transported to Lurie Children’s Hospital, listed in critical condition.
One shooting victim was transported to Stroger Hospital, listed in critical condition.
One shooting victim was transported to Community Hospital, listed in good condition.
One shooting victim, described as an adult, was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital, listed in serious condition.
