Police, firefighters and paramedics from Lake Zurich responded about 1:37 p.m., Tuesday, July 26, 2021 to a report of a house fire in the block of 21000 Kepwick Lane in Kildeer.
The first arriving Lake Zürich fire units found a single family residence with smoke coming from the home and fire out of the garage roof. Cruise quickly lead out with hose lines to the structure and began extinguishing the fire. The neighbors informed fire crews that the family pets were still inside the home. A Lake Zurich fire engine crew made their way inside the residence, found two dogs, and brought them to safety. The pets appeared to be unharmed and turned over to neighbors.
Firefighters, paramedics and/or command officers from Barrington, Long Grove, Wauconda, Countryside, Fox River Grove, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Buffalo Grove, Mount Prospect, Grayslake, and Streamwood where assigned to assist Lake Zurich firefighters.
The resident was not home at the time of the fire. The residence was significantly damaged by fire, heat, smoke and water, and is uninhabitable according to the Lake Zurich Fire Department.
The fires is under investigation. No casualties or injuries were reported.
