Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker announced at 11:06 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2022 that he has tested positive for COVID-19, and is experiencing mild symptoms. The tweet declared, “thanks to anti-viral medications like Paxlovid and vaccines I’ll be on the mend much quicker.

Gov. Pritzker recently traveled to Tampa, Florida to motivate Florida Democrats with a speech.
Pritzker criticized Florida Gov. DeSantis for his handling of COVID-19. Pritzker’s family having spent time in Florida during the peak positivity statistics during the pandemic.
“You see, Ron DeSantis is really just Donald Trump with a mask on,” Pritzker said. “He’s trying to pass off his covert racism, homophobia and misogyny as a more reasonable form of Trump Republicanism.”
Gov. Pritzker accused DeSantis of pretending COVID was a minor disease while cooking the books on Florida’s COVID data, and while refusing to order COVID vaccines for children under five.
