Police from Elk Grove Village responded about 6:35 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2022 to a report that a person was found floating motionless in a retention pond at the Jack A. Claes Pavilion, 1000 Wellington Avenue in Elk Grove Village.
Police arrived and located the body of a woman. A fire crew was dispatched to the scene, and a local dive response was activated to remove the body.
Elk Grove Village Police Department reports that the case involves no signs of foul play, and that the woman intentionally entered the water.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office reported that a female white, age 83, died by suicide drowning with no secondary cause listed.
