Police, firefighters and paramedics from Palatine responded about 4:09 a.m. Sunday, June 19, 2022 to a domestic-related call at an apartment unit in the block of 1500 Winslowe Drive in Palatine.
A male subject was barricaded inside an apartment unit on the third floor. A NIPAS emergency services team of SWAT personnel was assigned to the scene and set up a command center and an armored Bearcat vehicle at the front of the building. The male subject was ordered out of the building, and was warned that if did not comply with the lawful order, personnel would use force to remove him, which could result in his serious injury or death.
NIPAS personnel entered the apartment building and removed the male subject by about 8:30 a.m. without serious injury. The male was transported by paramedics from Palatine Fire Department to a nearby hospital, and police began clearing the scene while a smaller group of police officer conducted an investigation at the scene.
