Police and firefighter/paramedics from Niles responded about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2022 after Truck 2’s crew discovered a crash involving a school bus and a motorcycle at Milwaukee Avenue and Ebinger Drive in Niles. Truck 2 reported the motorcycle was underneath the bus, the motorcyclist was standing up on the sidewalk next to the bus.
Niles Fire Department Battalion 2 reported there were no injuries involving any children or anyone else on the school bus. Initially the extent of injuries to the motorcyclist were unknown. A Niles Police Department release stated that the scooter driver sustained minor injuries, and that the sixteen students that were on the bus at the time of the crash were not injured. Parents of the students were notified of the crash by Niles Elementary School District 71. The school administrator responsible for the children on the school bus arrived on the scene by about 4:00 p.m. and took charge of the safety of the children, and then moved the children to another school bus.
During rescue and investigation, the northbound lanes of Milwaukee Avenue were shut down from Devon Avenue to Ebinger Drive, but traffic was controlled to move in both directions in the southbound lanes. The school bus and the motorcycle were towed from the scene.

having no valid registration, and
operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
His court date is scheduled for June 22, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at the Cook Count Circuit Court in Skokie. Niles police reminded the public that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
