Police from Buffalo Grove and Arlington Heights, and firefighters and paramedics from Buffalo Grove responded about 1:34 a.m. Sunday June 26, 2022 to a report of an SUV crash with a tree on Strathmore Court west of Arlington Heights Road and just west of Buffalo Grove High School.
An occupant in the vehicle was found unresponsive and in cardiac arrest. Initially no information was available regarding how many people were in the SUV.
The Lake County Major Case Assistance Team (MCAT) is investigating the crash, and was still on the scene at 7:20 a.m.
Arlington Heights Road was closed between Dundee Road and Nichols Road during the crash investigation, and was re-opened about 7:30 a.m.
The crash scene involved a large area beginning at the northeast corner of Arlington Heights Road and Dundee Road, and ending on Strathmore Court. Vehicle tracks from the corner were visible for about 400 feet along the lawn on the property of Buffalo Grove High School just east of Arlington Heights Road. The SUV apparently crossed Arlington Heights Road in a northwest direction, clipping a fence at the southwest corner of Arlington Heights Road and Strathmore Court. One or more signs were hit, and then the SUV crashed into a large tree on the north side of Strathmore Court.
