Police, firefighters, and paramedics responded about 5:39 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2022 to a report that a woman was found with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a storage area at Public Storage, 1430 East Davis Street in Arlington Heights.
Police arrived at the scene first to confirm the area was secure, and when police confirmed the scene was secure, paramedics moved up to the victim’s location and determined the victim was deceased. A gun was found near the body when employees at the facility discovered the body. Arlington Heights Police Department detectives investigated the scene, and the outward appearance, according to the resources utilized at the scene, did not appear to indicate a threat in the area.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office reported that the woman found dead in the Arlington Heights storage facility resided in Lake Barrington, and was approximately a 50 to 59 year-old white female. Her identity was not initially released.
Although there is no known connection, there was an unknown category of police activity near the storage facility near the railroad tracks east of the intersection of Arthur Avenue and Davis Street about 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2022.
