A motorcade is scheduled to pass through south and central Arlington Heights Thursday morning, May 12, 2022 from Mitsuwa Marketplace at Arlington Heights Road and Algonquin Road to North School Park at Arlington Heights Road and Eastman Street in Arlington Heights. Expect some traffic disruptions. At least one news helicopter already scoped the route, and other news coverage may be connected with the event Thursday morning.
At 9:10 a.m., on May 12th, a motorcade escort will be traveling through the Arlington Heights community, marking the arrival of the Remembering Our Fallen exhibit that will be on display at North School Park May 12th – May 15th. The motorcade arrival at North School Park is expected about 9:45 a.m. Thursday. The Arlington Heights Police Department requests motorists please use caution when encountering the motorcade.
Remembering Our Fallen is a photographic war memorial that honors our country’s military Fallen from The Global War on Terror (9/11/2001 – 8/30/2021). Unlike brick and mortar memorials, Remembering Our Fallen is designed to travel and includes both military and personal photos. The memorial’s mobile legacy will be that these men and women will be remembered and their names will be spoken, while helping to lessen the grief of their families, according to the Knights of Columbus.
