13 INJURED, First Casualty Report
Police and firefighter/paramedics from New York City responded about 8:27 a.m. ET Tuesday, April 12, 2022 to a report of smoke in the subway and then a mass shooting in a subway near 36th Street and 4th Avenue in Brooklyn.
Multiple people are reported shot, and undetonated devices were reported at the scene.
Male suspect is possibly 5’5″ 170 LBS a male/black, wearing a gas mask, dressed in a construction vest, and carrying a book bag or backpack. The suspect is described to have thrown a device and opened fire with a weapon.
There was an initial report that the suspect may have been wearing clothing similar to MTA workers, but this was possibly debunked about 10:15 a.m. ET.
A large area of Brooklyn is on alert more than an hour after shooting.

Several people were shot on the platform of the 36th Street subway station in Brooklyn on Tuesday, officials said. The police are seeking a man in a worker’s vest and gas mask.
