Initially no injuries were reported at the fire scene.
A MABAS Division 5 Box Alarm #5-341 was activated about 1:38 a.m. Firefighters, paramedics and command officers from several communities, including McHenry and Wauconda, were assigned to the scene or to stand by at Crystal Lake fire stations.
The Box Alarm was updated to a Second Alarm about 2:11 a.m.
The fire was declared under control at 5:12 a.m.
The Spentozos family announced on January 25, 2022 that the D’Andrea Banquets & Conference Center would close permanently on February 28, 2022.
After over 35 years of happily servicing the community we have decided to retire. The city of Crystal Lake has been a great business partner throughout the years and has become a second home for our family.
During this unprecedented time it has become increasingly difficult to staff and provide the high level of service we demand of ourselves.
To those who came to work everyday we thank you. Your hard work and service has always been the secret to our success.
To all the friends and loyal customers we’ve made throughout the years we thank you for your support and patronage.
We will be closing February 28, 2022.
Sincerely,
The Spentzos Family (Facebook)
