Arlington Heights police responded about 9:17 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2022 to a report of a bank robbery at the Chase Bank located at 43 East Golf Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005. NOTE: The FBI reported they responded at 9:17 a.m.; initially there is no confirmation whether this time marks when the FBI responded or when the Arlington Heights Police Department responded to the initial call for help.
A weapon was implied, but not displayed by the offender.
The suspect was described as a male/black, 6’1″ to 6’3″ with a muscular build, and in his early 20’s. He was wearing a black flat-billed baseball cap with a white “White Sox” logo on the front. He was also wearing a black face mask, a black jacket, black pants and white sneakers with black details, according to the FBI.
The suspect may have had a scraggly black beard under the face mask.
No direction of travel or associated vehicle information was initially available.
No injuries were reported, and the suspect is ‘at large.’
The public can report tips (even anonymously) via 312-421-6700 or tips.fbi.gov.
The Arlington Heights Police Department did not notify Arlington Heights citizens about the bank robbery on their social media accounts even 24 hours after the bank robbery occurred.
Apparently there was no Illinois State Police Emergency Radio Network (ISPERN) message provided by the Arlington Heights Police Department to alert area police departments, as is the usual procedure by other police departments following bank robberies.
