Arlington Heights police about 9:26 AM Wednesday, February 16, 2022 announced a water main break that caused Sigwalt Street to be closed from Pine Avenue to Evergreen Avenue. Additionally, all lanes of northbound and southbound traffic on Arlington Heights Road near Sigwalt Street were reduced to one lane.
There was minor flooding at the intersection of Sigwalt Street and Arlington Heights Road at about 7:30 a.m. Public Works crews were quick to respond and completed the work to repair the water main at about 1:00 p.m.
Arlington Heights Road was recently repaved in a summer long project last year. Now there are two rough spots where digging was necessary to repair broken water mains — the incident today at Sigwalt Street and Arlington Heights Road, and a spot in the center southbound lane of Arlington Heights Road near St. James Catholic Church.
