McHenry County Sheriff’s deputies responded about 1:50 a.m. Friday, February 4, 2022 for a motorist assist at the intersection of Blissdale Road and Jackson Road southwest of Marengo in Riley Township.
When deputies arrived they found a vehicle fully-involved with fire. Marengo Fire Protection District firefighters responded and extinguished the fire, but then discovered a body was inside the vehicle.
Initially authorities have not declared the fire suspicious, but the incident is under investigation.
