Freezing rain is forecast in southeast Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas.
East-Central Texas may get up to 0.25 inch of ice.
The biggest concern for a dangerous ice storm is in Central Arkansas (Little Rock to Jonesboro) with a half inch of ice possible.
Southeast
Rain in Mississippi with Flash Flooding possible.
Severe line of storms expected in Mississippi and Alabama. with tornados possible.
Watch out for rain in flooding in northern Alabama.
Half inch of ice accumulation possible in Tennessee — Memphis and Covington, for example.
Ohio Valley
Heavy snow in eastern Missouri — 12 inches possible in St. Louis.
Heavy snow in Illinois — 15 inches in Springfield, 17 inches in Champaign, 9 inches in the worst snow-hit areas of Chicago. Champaign may break a record with more than 20 inches.
Heavy snow in Indiana — 20 inches in Kokomo, 21 inches in Fort Wayne, and Indianapolis with 6 to 12 inches depending on how long the early rain period lasts. Rain in Indianapolis for the first round.
Freezing rain along the southern border of Indiana and Ohio may also affect Kentucky and West Virginia. Half inch ice possible in southern Indiana near the Kentucky.
Heavy snow in Ohio — 18 inches in Toledo. Rain in Toledo, Ohio for the first round.
Heavy snow in Michigan — 12 inches in Detroit.
A narrower band of freezing rain in central Illinois and central Indiana.
The Northeast
A little early for precise numbers, but here is the rough outline for the Northeast.
Rain and freezing rain in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia.
Heavy snow in upstate New York and Toronto, western New York and northwest Pennsylvania.
Freezing rain may become an issue in eastern Pennsylvania.
Behind the system as it exits to the Atlantic Ocean there will be a band of 6 to 10 inches of snow in some areas — possibly in Northern Virginia, Maryland, eastern Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, southern New Hampshire and southern Maine.
All rain in Washington D.C. likely.
