A resident of Park Ridge was arrested last week, accused of stalking a Palatine female resident after the Palatine Police Department conducted an investigation of a male Park Ridge resident, who was in a prior relationship with the female. kl
Since October 2021, a female victim received more than 100 text messages from random phone numbers with specific details about the victim’s location. The victim brought her vehicle to an automotive repair shop in early January 2022, when a tracking device was discovered. The victim contacted police who recovered the device and started an investigation. Palatine Police detectives obtained a search warrant for the tracking device and learned the device was registered and purchased by Joel A. Reiser of the block of 1100 Canfield Road in Park Ridge. The male resident had been in a previous dating relationship with the victim. The investigation revealed a match on no less than five specific occurrences connecting the location of the tracking device, text messages sent to the victim by Reiser regarding her location, and the victim’s actual location.
On Friday, January 21st, 2022 Joel A. Reiser was taken into custody, and charged with one count of Stalking (Class 4 Felony). Reiser was brought to the Cook County 3rd Municipal courthouse in Rolling Meadows where he was released on a $10,000 Individual recognizance bond with curfew stipulations and ordered to have no contact with the victim. Reiser’s next scheduled court date is February 14th, 2022 in court room 108.
