Police, firefighters and paramedics from Buffalo Grove responded about 1:41 a.m. Saturday, January 1, 2022 to a report of a house fire in the block of 400 Glendale Road in Buffalo Grove. A caller reported an attached garage was on fire at a house across the street on Glendale Road.
Police arrived first and reported a fully-engulfed garage with one vehicle burning inside the garage. The fire response was upgraded to a ‘working fire’ response based on information from the police officers. The fire extended to a home or another garage next-door.
The fire was declared under control by about 2:10 a.m.
Loss stopped was reported at 2:36 p.m. by Buffalo Grove fire command. Buffalo Grove Fire Department is investigating the fire.
Firefighters, paramedics and/or command officers from Arlington Heights, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Long Grove, Prospect Heights and Wheeling were assigned to the fire scene.
Firefighters, paramedics and/or command officers from Barrington-Countryside, Grayslake, Park Ridge, Rolling Meadows, and Wauconda were assigned to standby in Buffalo Grove fire stations to cover the rest of the Village of Buffalo Grove.
Initially, there was no confirmation of any injuries.
