Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 12:22 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2022 to a report of an apartment fire at 400 West Rand Road in Arlington Heights.
UPDATE WITH VIDEO …
Engine 4’s crew on arrival reported fire from a first floor apartment and that they were leading out with a line.
The fire was upgraded to a working fire response by 12:27 a.m. Firefighters were still working with an attack line at 12:40 a.m. Initially firefighters believed they had no extension from the apartment unit on the first floor.
Residents on the first through fourth floor were being evacuated. Smoke conditions were moderate even on the fourth floor (top floor).
