Police, firefighters and paramedics from Wheeling responded about 12:59 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2021 to a report of a crash with injuries and entrapment involving a semi-trailer truck and an SUV at Lake Cook Road and Lexington Drive in Wheeling.
Police, firefighters and paramedics discovered a crash in the intersection involving a white semi-trailer truck and a black Range Rover SUV.
Wheeling firefighters and paramedics worked an extrication operation they believed was going to be a prolonged extrication, but were able to extricated the driver of the Range Rover by 1:20 p.m.
The victim was treated and transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
Apparently the truck driver was traveling eastbound on Lake Cook Road and may have been making a left turn to travel north on Lexington Drive when the crash occurred with the Range Rover.
