A deadly tornado outbreak struck at least five states late Friday night, December 10, 2021 into the early morning of Saturday, December 11, 2021.
A tornado with a 227-mile track is included with tornado activity named a Quad-State tornado, but tornado activity has tracked through Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee, and Kentucky. There were two tornadoes south of the 227-mile track tornado and one tornado to the north.
Early analysis is that there were likely at least four tornadoes.

Early assessment in Kentucky is that 50 people were killed with an estimate that 70 and 100 are feared dead. Fatalities are expected in at least 5 counties in Kentucky.
The 227-mile tornado has the longest track with an incredibly rare track longer possibly than the longest tornado track in the Tri-State tornado outbreak of Wednesday, March 18, 1925. The Tri-State tornado outbreak killed over 700 people.
Many people were killed in a candle factory known as the Mayfield Consumer Products candle factory, which collapsed from a tornado that struck Friday night. There are reports of people trapped under the collapsed factory structure. Dozens of fatalities are feared at the candle factory incident.
There are multiple fatalities reported after a tornado struck an Amazon facility in Edwardsville, Illinois at about 8:33 p.m. near I-270 and Illinois Route 111.
Power outage reports were climbing significantly at 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning, December 11, 2021.

According to Edwardsville Police Department, a tornado struck western Edwardsville, Illinois at 8:33 p.m. local time, causing catastrophic damage to a significant portion of an Amazon warehouse at 3077 Gateway Commerce Center Drive South with confirmed fatalities. The address marks the location of the DLI4 Amazon Delivery Station. Initially there was some confusion on social media regarding which location was damaged, as there are several Amazon facilities in the area — Amazon STL4 (fulfillment center) and DLI5 (delivery station) in Pontoon Beach south of the other nearby Amazon facilities.
