Police, firefighters from Countryside Fire Protection District and Lake County Sheriff’s deputies responded about 4:20 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 to a report of a house fire in Mundelein.
Police and firefighters received a report that an attached garage was fully involved with vehicles inside the garage. All people were reported evacuated with no pets inside.
Firefighters on arrival reported an attached garage fully-involved with fire in a 3-story home with a walkout basement. Firefighters has at least three lines on the fire. There was fire through the roof and a collapse of at least one bedroom floor involving an upper floor.
Two patients were assessed by paramedics at the fire scene, but it was initially unknown if anyone was transported to a hospital.
A MABAS Division 4 Box Alarm #41A-10 was activated by the Countryside Fire Protection District about 4:36 a.m. and a Second Alarm was activated at 4:47 a.m. A Third Alarm was activated at 5:11 a.m. for tenders only.
Firefighters, paramedics and/or command officers and investigators from Arlington Heights, Grayslake, Gurnee, Lake Zurich, Libertyville, Mundelein, North Chicago, Round Lake were assigned to the Box Alarm.
Firefighters, paramedics and/or command officers from Cary, Glenview, Highland Park, McHenry, and Palatine Rural were assigned to the Second Alarm.
Firefighters, paramedics and/or command officers from Lake Villa and Nunda were assigned to the Third Alarm for Tenders Only.
Firefighters, paramedics and/or command officers from Barrington, Buffalo Grove, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, and Palatine were assigned mutual to stand by in Countryside fire stations.
Route 83/60 was closed in both directions between Diamond Lake Road and Acorn Lane. Tenders and other fire apparatus was lined up on Route 83/60 during firefighting operations.
