Police from Arlington Heights responded about 9:00 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 2021 to a report of a suspicious person checking doors and walking in between houses in the area near Carlyle Place from Mayfair Road to Wilshire Lane in the Stonegate neighborhood in Arlington Heights.
Police received a report that the suspicious male was walking in between houses, looking in windows of homes, checking doors and walking into backyards.
The person was described as a male/black, tall, wearing a dark gray hoodie, a light blue shirt Champion brand shirt with writing across the chests, and light blue or light gray baggy pants.
Police on arrival spoke with the man. He was not arrested, and initially it is unknown whether he was given any trespassing warnings.
The Stonegate neighborhood is located east of Mariano’s between Northwest Highway and Kensington Road.
A Ring video camera captured a suspicious person in the neighborhood and showed him opening a door and possibly looking in a garage window, and then walking into a side yard between two houses.
