San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies, and firefighters, and paramedics from Santee, California responded about 12:00 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2021 to reports of a small plane crashed at Jeremy Street and Greencastle Street in Santee. The small aircraft crashed into a UPS delivery van and two residential homes in Santee. A fire hydrant was also struck. The fire department activated a second alarm response.
A twin engine Cessna C340 crashed in the neighborhood. Two fatalities were confirmed by 2:30 p.m., and two injured victims were transported to the hospital. Their conditions were not initially released.
Power was turned off in the neighborhood near the scene, where a debris field spanned approximately one block, according to the City of Santee.
An NTSB investigator is traveling tonight to the scene of the 10/11/21 Santee, California, plane crash. He expects to be at the accident site first thing in the morning to begin the on-scene phase of the investigation.
