The search for Brian Laundrie, the person of interest in the disappearance case and subsequent homicide case of Gabby Petito, intensified Wednesday after his parents arrived at the Carlton Reserve in North Port preserve where their attorney revealed that “some articles belonging to Brian were found.” The FBI had also issued a warrant for the arrest of Brian Laundrie on charges related to his alleged unauthorized use of Gabby Petito’s bank card.

According to FOX News, Brian Laundrie’s parents, Chris and Roberta Laundrie, discovered a white bag and a dark-colored object after traveling through a patch of prickly shrubs at a clearing at the edge of the brush. According to Fox News, Brian Laundries parents could be seen putting the object into the bag and handing it over to a law enforcement officer. A sign of possible consolation was observed when a law enforcement officer patted Chris Laundrie on the shoulder at the Carlton Reserve. The couple then left the park by 8:45 a.m. EDT, and law enforcement began to arrive, including the North Port Mobile Command Center, which arrived about 10:30 a.m.
A senior law enforcement source had told Fox News earlier Wednesday that “what appear to be human remains” were found at a site being searched by a cadaver dog within the park. The FBI is expected to provide an update regarding the investigation later on Wednesday.
The site near Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park is near Power Line Trail which runs underneath high tension power lines.
