Dr. Brent Blue, Teton County, Wyoming coroner released on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 that the cause of death of Gabby Petito is ruled to be strangulation. Dr. Blue confirmed that Gabby Pieto’s body was outside for four weeks. He would not comment regarding whether the body was affected by weather or wild animals. The coroner said he could not answer whether the body was buried. He stated that the FBI would decide whether that question would be answered.

The coroner said that Gabby Petito was not pregnant.

The autopsy included a whole body CT scan, toxicology test, and work of a forensic anthropologist.

The coroner could not make any comments about the suspects, saying questions about Brian Laundrie could not be answered because facts related to Brian Laundrie were not part of his investigation.
