Illinois State Police and firefighters and paramedics from Chicago Fire Department responded about 7:55 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021 to a report of a motorcycle crash on the Edens Expressway (I-94) near Wilson Avenue in Chicago.
Firefighter/paramedics and Illinois State Police troopers on arrival found a motorcyclist deceased at the scene. There were three other motorcycles parked just north of the scene on the Edens Expressway.
Northbound Edens Expressway was shut down at the split with the Kennedy Expressway with all traffic diverted to the westbound lanes of the Kennedy Expressway (I-90 WEST). The Wilson Avenue exit was available, but it was uncertain whether the Wilson Avenue exit would be available during the entire crash investigation.
The westbound lanes of the Kennedy Expressway were backed up to Belmont Avenue at 9:55 a.m.
